Physics
Physics gives students knowledge about the ideas and laws controlling the behaviour of things that make up the physical world around us. Physics looks at mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism and the structure of atoms. This subject requires a good knowledge of maths.
Physics helps us to understand how the world around us works, and satisfy your curiosity, from can openers, light bulbs and cell phones to muscles, lungs and brains; from paints, piccolos and pirouettes to cameras, cars and cathedrals; from earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes to quarks, DNA and black holes. Studying physics develops your critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Physicists are versatile, which opens a wide range of future careers.
